Nick Young Got Robbed?

Los Angeles Lakers, Nick Young lost close to $100,000 in clothing, shoes, jewelry and luggage that was stolen from his Los Angeles area home while he was playing in a game at Staples Center.Young said he returned to his Sherman Oaks house after the Lakers' 103-94 win Sunday over the Orlando Magic to find an upstairs window broken."I came in, I seen my drawers and everything open and clothes all over the floor and the glass was broken from the window," Young said after Lakers practice Monday. The 28-year-old said he called police and checked into a hotel after discovering the robbery."I didn't feel safe no more," which is ashame because he lives in a very nice house, and the fact that someone took his things from him is rediculous. Young lost one of his favorite sneakers, the Nike Air Yeezy 2 sneakers he wore to a game last week and showed off for TV cameras, telling reporters that they go for as much as $6,000 on the open market which was probably one of the main reasons someone broke into his house. Young is known as "Swaggy P." Young said he called police around 2 a.m. and officers did not respond to the scene until between 4 a.m. and 5 a.m. "I was just happy no one was in the house when they was breaking in," Young said. "It could have made it a lot worse." Former NBA players Eddy Curry and Antoine Walker weren't so lucky, as they were in their homes when burglars arrived and held them up at gunpoint in separate 2007 incidents."I'm just glad that I didn't have to be in that situation, really," Young said. "I don't know what I would have did. I was just shocked they tried to get Swaggy yesterday."Young said he would take precautions moving forward."I'm going to have to get a guard dog or something," Young said with a laugh. Nick Young is lucky for being alone today even though he has lost his favorite pair of sneakers, at least he still has his life.

All-Star Sam Lacey Dies at age 66

Sam Lacey was a former NBA All-Star center who spent most of his 13-year career with the Kansas City Kings. The Sacramento Kings, where the franchise relocated in 1985, said they did not know the cause of death. Kings general manager Pete D'Alessandro called Lacey "one of the finest and longest-tenured players to ever don a Kings uniform." He was also known as a tireless worker and a wonderful teammate. He will be greatly missed and forever remembered for his contributions on the game of basketball and in life. He recently has died at the age of 66.

Info About Sam Lacey

Sam Lacey was born on March 8, 1948, in Indianola, Mississippi. Lacey was a 6'10" center who played college basketball at New Mexico State University. The New Mexico State Aggies had a combined record of 74–14 during his three seasons he was there. In the 1969–70 post-season, he and star guard Jimmy Collins led the Aggies to their first and only Final Four appearance. The Aggies defeated Rice University, Kansas State University and Drake University before falling to eventual national champion UCLA. In 2007–08, Sam Lacey was among the first inductees into the Aggies Ring of Honor. As of 2014, Lacey still holds many New Mexico State rebounding records for both single seasons and career. Sam Lacey was drafted in the first round fifth overall of the 1970 NBA Draft by the Cincinnati Royals. He played 13 seasons (1970–1983) in the NBA as a member of the Royals, Kansas City Kings, New Jersey Nets and Cleveland Cavaliers. He averaged over 10 rebounds per game in his first six seasons, and was the NBA's third leading rebounder in the 1974–75 season. Lacey's most productive NBA season came in 1973–74 when he averaged 14.2 points and 13.4 rebounds per game. He was named an All-Star in 1975, and finished the season averaging 11.5 points, 14.2 rebounds, and 5.3 assists per game.Sam Lacey is one of only five NBA players along side with Hakeem Olajuwon, Julius Erving, David Robinson and Ben Wallace, to have registered 100 blocks and 100 steals in six consecutive seasons. Which is a big accomplishment for a player of his size. His #44 jersey was retired by the Sacramento Kings. Sam Lacey retired in 1983, he had around 9,687 rebounds and a total of 10,303 points. As of 2014, Lacey ranks 40th overall for total rebounds in NBA history. NBA's Best 5 Players Since 2014 All-Star Break

Since the All-Star break many NBA players are playing outstanding, but in particularly there are ten players who are causing a lot of buzz around the league. In no order here are some of the top players since the All-Star break. The top 5 players that have been playing out standing other than, Lebron James, Kevin Durant, DeAndre Jordan, Blake Griffin, and Chris Paul.

1.) Tobias Harris averaged 18.2 points on 52.1 percent shooting since the All-Star break, as well as 6.2 rebounds and 1.3 steals. In his time with the team to close out last season, Harris put up 17.3 points and 8.5 rebounds, so it isn't exactly anything new or surprising. But it's still noteworthy nonetheless.

2.) The Portland Trail Blazers, Nick Batum, is the most of his terrific player in March, but Batum has become a rebounding machine. He's averaging his usual scoring average, but he's bumped his rebounding from 6.5 during the season to 10.7 per game since All-Star weekend.
For this month, Batum's snatching 13.3 rebounds per game, tying for second with center DeMarcu Cousins. Batum's lanky frame and incredible 7'4" wingspan has allowed him to outhustle some of the league's best rebounding teams.

3.) Trevor Ariza  best performances have come against weaker teams, but his play has helped separate the Wizards from the pack, he averaged 16.7 points since the break, shooting 50.9 percent and 50 percent from three-point range. Ariza's numbers before that aren't much different, with him scoring 14.4 points on 44.2 percent and 39.9 percent from the field and from three.

4.) James Harden has been one of the NBA's best 10 players all season, he is the league's best since the break, and Harden's play as a force to be reckoned with going forward. He has been significantly improving in all areas. Harden is one of the league's best shooting guards if not the best.

5.) Kenneth Faried does his best to help his team win, but his playing has been noticed.
Faried averages a solid 10.4 points and 7.6 rebounds before All-Star weekend, shooting 54.4 percent from the field and 58.8 percent from the free-throw line. Since the break, he's hit a new stride which I'm sure Nuggets fans hope continues. Faried's 21.9 points and 9.8 rebounds per game in March are beyond anything we've seen before from him, with his previous career-high average being 11.5 points per game last season.

Lebron Hits 61

Lebron At It Again
Lebron James put on the best scoring game of his NBA career, pouring in 61 points. Lebron's career high and franchise record as the Miami Heat beat the Charlotte Bobcats 124-107. It was the eighth straight win for the two-time defending champions, who are starting to roll as the playoffs get near. Lebron James made 22 of 33 shots from the field, including his first eight 3-point attempts. His career best previously had been 56 points, on March 20, 2005, for Cleveland against Toronto. Glen Rice scored 56 to set the Heat record on April 15, 1995, against Orlando. James had 24 points at halftime, then added 25 in the third quarter. That was the moment, James said, when he knew he was in the midst of a special night."I felt pretty good in the first half but halftime can always kind of derail things and slow things up," James said. "But I was able to get things going once again in the third quarter and I knew it could be one of those nights."Lebron killed it in his game agianst the Bobcats, some people might say it's white mask he was wearing. Lebron should start wearing the mask every game if he has games like he did against the Bobcats. The Heat didn't even have there all star gaurd Dwayne Wade, who got a night off to rest. James scored 11 in the first quarter, after which Miami led by three, and added 13 more in the second. His 24-point first half was the highest-scoring opening 24 minutes for the four-time MVP in nearly a year, helping stake the Heat to a 60-54 lead at the break. It's incredible that he scored that much, not as many players now a days score over 60 points. Only over 15 people have scored over 60 points in a single game.

The Man Behind The Mask

The Man Behind The Mask

The Miami Heat were pumped for their perceptions of the black mask and the man who wore it as well. Norris Cole player for the Miami Heat used the word "swag, and Dwyane Wade considered the "element of surprise" to be "pretty cool."The person behind the mask is Lebron James, its a black carbon-fiber mask that was used to protect his nose. Lebron James returned to action Thursday night after sitting out a week and led the Miami Heat to a 108-82 win over the New York Knicks. James had a game high of 31 points, but he also scored high marks with teammates for his choice of face gear. James was forced to wear the mask after suffering the injury during a Feb. 20 win against Oklahoma City, when midway through the fourth quarter, Thunder's Serge Ibaka struck him in the face on a drive to the basket causing him to break his nose. James told some of his teammates and the media he likely would wear a clear fiberglass mask similar to ones worn by several other players in the league to protect facial injuries. I personally think that the mask that Lebron was wearing looked pretty cool, he looked like he was bat man. Chris Bosh the center of the Miami Heat said "I think he played like Batman out there, I think it really helped him out. He played great." Lebron even said "Always wanted to save Gotham City from the corruption, criminals and untrustworthy." I think that the black carbon-fiber mask looks cooler then the clear mask. James expects to wear the mask for at least a couple more weeks, which he says he doesnt mind. Lebron James no doubt is one of the best NBA players, this face mask will not stop him for doing what he does best.

Raymond Felton arrested for gun, was it his?

Raymond Felton Gun Trouble?

New York Knick Raymond Felton was arrested early Tuesday morning for possessing an unlicensed firearm in his Manhattan apartment. Making things worse, when the handgun was recovered by police, loaded with 18 rounds of live ammunition, according to prosecutors, and had a 20-round magazine, triggering a felony violation. In New York State, it is a misdemeanor to possess an unlicensed handgun in your home, and anyone doing so faces up to one year of imprisonment. If Raymond Felton  is found guilty of the felony count of illegal possession of an extended magazine, he is likely going to serve real jail time, and never be aloud to play in the NBA. While earlier reported Raymond Felton's wife said, that he threatened her with a firearm. Felton returned to practice Wednesday and will play in Thursday's road game against Miami Heat, Felton might also choose to take a voluntary leave from the team. Knicks coach Mike Woodson said Raymond was focused on basketball at practice. He said he did not know all the details surrounding Felton's legal situation but added there was never any internal discussion about sitting him for a few games. Lucky for Raymond he is still able to play, most coaches in the NBA would not tolerate that. Raymond said, "I'm here to concentrate on this team, finish this season out with the New York Knicks and see what happens, man,Trying to make it to the playoffs. We're 5 and a half games out of 25 games left, so I'm really focusing on that with these guys, with the team and trying to make that happen."I believe that Raymond cought himself in a major situation, who knows if his wife and him were going threw problems, or maybe he really did threatend her. If I was in Raymond's shoes I personally would have never even had bought a gun, not that there isn't anything wrong with owning a gun, it's just that he was probably going threw some problems with his wife and she decided to say he pointed a gun at her.

Jason Collins Makes A Come Back

Jason Collins Is Back
Jason Collins makes a come back to the NBA becoming the first openly gay athlete to play in the NBA. Sunday he played 12 minutes in the Brooklyn Nets' win over the Los Angeles Lakers.Jason Collins missed his only field goal attempted and did not score, but played nearly seven minutes in the fourth quarter and showed he can still play defense and set bruising screens that free up his teammates. Jason Collins held news conferences before and after Sunday night's game, which was something different for a player who has been a player in the NBA for 12 seasons. His return to the NBA after revealing him being openly gay has been a distraction to his teammates. Brooklyn point guard Deron Williams, said that he was proud to be a part of a historic night but ultimately didn't think it felt all that different from any other game that he has played in. Deron Williams says, "I'm happy for him, I know he's been sitting around waiting for a job, so I'm happy to see him on a team and happy that he's on our team. As some players are happy for him to be on the team, not all fans are happy forhim to be on the team saying things about him coming out. Even though he is the first NBA  player to be openly gay, he's still proved that he can playthe lock down defense that he is known for. Brooklyn Nets head coach Jason Kidd played with Jason Collins in New Jersey from 2001-08, making it to the NBA Finals. The Nets signed Collins to a 10-day contract Sunday morning, Collins wore jersey number 46 in Sunday's game but will wear number 98 for the remainder of his time with the Nets. Because of the speed with which he was signed Sunday, there wasn't time to prepare that jersey number in time for tipoff. Jason Collins wears the number 98 is in honor of Matthew Shepard, a University of Wyoming student who died in a notorious anti-gay hate crime in 1998. Collins has worn the jersey number with both the Celtics and Wizards in previous seasons.
